Why you cannot see the book first
Illustrating fifty-odd pages takes a person several days. We cannot do that on spec for everyone who is curious, so there is no preview and I am not going to pretend otherwise.
What I can do instead is show you the real thing. Both title pages carry the cover and three spreads photographed at the size they print, with nothing retouched and no props on the table. If the finished book is not right, we reprint it and you keep the first one.
Where the books are made
Printed and bound in India. 8 × 10 inches, 170gsm uncoated paper, hardbound boards, and a layflat stitched binding — the sections are sewn before they are glued, which is why the book opens all the way and survives being read at bedtime for years.

What I will not claim
It is a drawing, not a likeness guarantee. Your child is illustrated from the photos you send — hair, skin tone, glasses, the haircut in the photo — and a person looks at every page before it goes to print. That is as far as the promise goes, and I would rather say it here than have you find it out from the book.
The photos are the other thing worth being plain about. They go to the illustrator working on your book and nobody else, they are deleted thirty days after the book ships, and they are never used in advertising. The photo policy says exactly what is kept and for how long.

Tell me while it is still on the desk. It is much easier to fix a page before it is printed than after it is bound.
