Photo policy and privacy
Photographs of a child are the most sensitive thing this site asks for, so this page starts with them.
The photos
We ask for three photographs of your child so the illustrator can draw them into the story. That is the only reason we hold them, and it is the only thing they are used for.
They go to the illustrator working on your book and to the person who checks the pages. Nobody else sees them. They are never used in advertising, never shown as a sample, and never passed to anyone who is not making your book.
They are stored in a private bucket on Supabase, our hosting provider. They are not publicly readable — the upload and every later look at a file happen through short-lived signed links.
How long we keep them
Thirty days after your book ships, and then they are deleted. That is a real delete of the file, not a flag on a row: the image itself is removed from storage. We keep a record that the photograph existed and was deleted, so we can tell you what happened to it, and nothing of the photograph itself.
The finished illustrations stay, because they are the book. The photographs do not.
Having them deleted sooner
Write to admin@nayratales.com and we delete them. It is a monitored address and a person answers it.
If the book has not been illustrated yet, deleting the photographs stops it being made, so tell us in the same email what you want to happen to the order. India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act treats a child’s data as needing a parent’s consent, and that consent is yours to withdraw.
What else we collect
Your child’s first name, which is printed in the book. Your email address and mobile number, so we can send the upload link, the order updates and the tracking. Your delivery address, which goes to the courier.
Payment is handled by Razorpay. We never see or store your card or UPI details — we get back a payment reference and whether it worked.
We keep order records after a book ships, because an order is a transaction we may have to account for. That record does not include the photographs.
Cookies and advertising
This site runs a Meta pixel so we can tell which advertisements lead to books being bought. It does not load until you agree to it — the consent bar is the first thing on the page and declining leaves the pixel switched off for the whole visit.
When a purchase is reported back to Meta, your email address and mobile number are hashed first. We do not send them anything that identifies your child.
Asking what we hold
Write to admin@nayratales.com and ask. You can have a copy of what we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. If something here is not being honoured, say so in the same email and it comes to a person, not a form.
