How it works
Six steps between paying and a book on the floor. The ten days start when your photos arrive, not when you pay.
You order
Pick Dino Land or Moonlight Zoo, tell us your child’s first name and where the book is going, and pay. ₹2,999, free delivery across India.
The name is capped at twelve letters and printed exactly as you type it, so type it the way they would write it themselves.
You send three photos
As soon as you have paid you get a link to upload three photos. Front on, in daylight, the whole face, no cap. Two taken on different days beat two taken in the same minute.
The link keeps working for a week and it is shareable. If you are not the parent, forward it to whoever has the photos on their phone.
Your child is illustrated
An illustrator draws your child into the story — hair, skin tone, glasses, the haircut in the photo you sent. It is a drawing, not a likeness guarantee, and we would rather say that plainly than promise a portrait.
Their first name is set into the artwork wherever a name belongs on a page, not dropped on top of the finished illustration.
A person checks every page
Not a script and not a spot check. Somebody opens the file, looks at every page, and sends it back to the illustrator if the face is wrong. That is why it takes ten days instead of two.
It is printed and bound
Printed on 170gsm uncoated paper, 8 × 10 inches, then bound by hand into hardbound boards with a layflat stitched binding. Printed and bound in India.
Layflat means the sections are stitched before they are glued, so no part of an illustration disappears into the fold and the book stays open on the floor without a hand on it.
It arrives
Ten days from the day your photos arrive: three to illustrate, one to check, a week to print, bind and ship. Metros usually land sooner. If it will be late you hear it from us first.
You get a link to an order page you can keep, which shows where the book has got to, and the tracking once it ships.
If the finished book is not right, we reprint it and you keep the first one. Reprints and refunds.
Still deciding?
Both books show the cover and three spreads at the size they print, with nothing retouched. Dino Land is fifty-two pages, a lost hatchling and a valley to cross before dark. Moonlight Zoo is fifty-six pages of animals awake after closing time.
Anything else, the questions parents actually ask covers most of it, and I answer the rest myself.
